StillBeating Pictures is owned and operated by Heath H. Bellemore (me!).
Like all children I had a fascination with cartoons, but I seemed more curious as to how they were made rather than what was going on.
I’d always draw little characters on the corners of my school book and make them move about by flicking the pages, in primary school this was considered “cool”.
One year, my father bought me a program called "3D Movie Maker" where one could 'animate' their own 3D cartoons, it wasn’t a bad program, I quite enjoyed working with it, but I've always been a bigger fan of 2D.
A few years later my father bought me another program called “Simpsons Cartoon Studio” which was far easier than 3D movie maker and offered more animations and a wider array of characters.
Finally, when I was in year 9 in my Information-Technology class one of our tasks was to use this program called “flash” to make an animation. After some difficulty I made my first independent cartoon, Tom Delonge Vs 50-Cent, a crude little cartoon which insulted rappers idea of style and their inability to make sense. It wasn’t at all good, but I got an A.
A friend of mine managed to dig me up a copy of flash and I was hooked, that was 2006. StillBeating Pictures has been running since late 2007 and will continue for as long as I make cartoons and games! |
